I’m catching up on a couple of episodes of “Game Show” on ABC Classic FM. This program is hosted by Meena Shamaly who is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and performance poet. Meena shares iconic soundtracks and orchestral scores from digital gaming. I’m listening to the episode from 19 April where Meena explores the work of actor and musician Troy Baker. I love the work Troy has done on The Last of Us but also have a friend who worked on Stray Gods so I love his input into that game as the character Apollo.

“Troy Baker is a well-known actor and musician who has portrayed various video game characters with the accompaniment of renowned composers. His notable roles include Joel Miller in The Last of Us series, the Joker in Batman: Arkham Origins, and Booker DeWitt in Bioshock Infinite. Baker’s diverse characters have been complemented by scores from composers like Gustavo Santaolalla, Christopher Drake, and Garry Schyman. Additionally, Baker has explored different universes, such as Middle Earth and Stray Gods, showcasing his versatility in inspiring new and exciting scores.”
I’ve not played the Batman games, an oversight perhaps, but have played Bioshock and Uncharted so Troy’s work on those games are also familiar to me.

Tip for you – if the program is no longer available to play, most of the tracks have a YouTube and Spotify link.
