A quick YouTube watch at my sisters house – she found one of those youtubers who buy stuff for fun – this time it was crocs. Now I own a couple of pairs of crocs but this was crazy LOL

on the way to my sisters I was listening to past playlists from https://kissfm.com.au/ (dance music station/channel) on Mixcloud when an episode called Electronique radio started. Damn, this was my jam!
Hosted by Mark Dynamix (a DJ who was loads of Ministry of Sound tracks), it was all about New Wave and Synth Pop – the 80s man. The episode I heard included Depeche Mode, The Cure, Falco (Rock Me Amadeus) and a Nina Hagen track.
It took me back to the times I would hang out at Central Station Records in Melbourne, flicking through the vinyl, and listening to what the store DJs were playing.
It also reminded of my love of ambient and trance music, of listening to a show called “Of Ambience and Atmosphere” on 3RRR which I recorded on cassette at the time, and discovered bands like “My Friend the Chocolate Cake”, Brian Eno and Robert Fripp.
As if reading my mind, YouTube then prompted me to watch a video of 2 bass players breaking down John Taylor’s bassline from Rio (one of my favourite bands and songs)
This was followed by a video of Joh Taylor breaking down his own bassline. Gosh I was having some awesome musical memory moments yesterday!
Enjoy.
